I bought a refurbished laptop to try out #guix on it. It didn’t go well with occasional crashes and update fails. Guys on irc channel were very helpful and pointed out that I might have hw issues and not sw ones.
I tried out memtest86 tool to diagnose RAM and it turned out that one of the memory sticks is faulty. Its unsettling to think about that the layer which you absolutely rely on is silently corrupting everything.
